Easter Time

Why is it that you can spend so much time shopping for a child related activity, setting up the activity only for children to a) realise that a chunk of dry shredded wheat isn't easily chewable b) eat 50% of the prep work and c) complete activity in a time that only Usain Bolt is generally familar with.

There are two weeks of Easter Holidays, 14 days, 336 hours, 20 160 minutes, 1 209 600 seconds. The nest making barely lasted 5 minutes. Bugger.

Creative Genius

Over the last 72 hours Noah has become something of a creative monster, quite uncontrollable. Give the kid a crayon and he will go and go and go, outlasting even the most in shape Duracell bunny. I don't want to halt this artistic flow but I am concerned as to what to do with 100+ portraits consisting mainly of myself, Toby and Daddy, the odd apple and rocket thrown in for good measure.

Home Sweet Home

Returning from a trip means a little shop en-route for the basics, milk, bread and in my case flowers. I like them in my house, it makes it home for me.
They don't have to be special, they don' t have to be designed in fact it is more pleasing when they just rest in their vase and relax.

Superstitious?

I question the reasoning of having these digits represent a flight number? As an uneasy flyer and saluter of magpies, it didn't settle easy with me. But no plane fell from the sky and I survived to be able to write about it. Not all went well though.
This case had a friend, and at the moment the friend is lost.

Trees are there to be climbed

Boy's should climb trees, in fact I think it should be part of the National Curriculum for the under 10s to climb trees.

They should also be made to figure out how to get themselves down.

Dun a Ri

The bridge (not sure if it is Sarah's or Cromwell's) but either way its old and quite scenic sits amongst the Dun a Ri Forest Park in Kingscourt Co. Cavan on the banks of the Cabra.

The potential for a very serene walk should you not have two children trying to launch themselves over the barrier.

On the land

Noah calmly got to work with the planting of potatos on his ancesteral land, though not the most enthusiastic of gardeners, there are a row of spuds now working their magic in the soil ready for the return trip in July.
Who said this was a sterotypical image of a trip to Ireland?!

Nana Hugs

Toby soon got to grips with his Nana on a trip to Ireland, happily hugging and very at ease in the change of environment.

New Generation

He can't read, can write his name but not a sentance, counts to 20 on occasion and calls sheep "sheeps" but he can happily control a mouse and keyboard and work his way through Postman Pat games on the PC, go back to the main Cbeebies page and start colouring the Chuggington gang.

This is learning 2009 style.
